Nancy Diane Bruning passed away on August 30, 2026. She was 86. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City.

Nancy was born January 18, 1940 at the Nevada City Sanitarium to Lloyd and Iris Terrill. She was the Queen of her Chapter of Job’s Daughters in 1957. She graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1957.

After graduation, she moved to Sacramento to work for the State. After two years, she moved back home to marry. On March, 14, 1959, William “Bill” Bruning and Nancy were married at the Grass Valley Methodist Church.

She worked and retired from Bank of America. She enjoyed going to Fort Bragg, loved traveling and loved to read. She had a great love for shopping and QVC. She was a sister of local sorority. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her brother Don Terrill, sister-in-law Marilyn Terrill, son Robert Bruning, daughter-in-law Cindy Bruning, grandkids: Lacy Bruning, Justin Bruning, Megan VanRoekel, and grandson-in-law Eddie VanRoekel, great-grandkids: Beau Branch and Brooklyn Van Roekel.

She’s preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Iris Terrill, husband Bill Bruning, and son Richard Bruning.
