David Allen Straub

David Allen Straub, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 34.

Born on August 1, 1991, in Grass Valley, California, to Allen and Sheri Straub, David spent his life rooted in the community and landscapes he loved. He grew into a man known for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and remarkable ability to build, create, and bring joy to those around him.

David married Alexa Straub (Leonhard) on June 24, 2017, after a high school romance that blossomed through ten years of dating. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed two cherished children: Greyson in 2018 and Hayven in 2020. Being a father was David’s greatest joy, and he poured his heart into creating lasting memories for his children, often bringing their biggest dreams to life with his creativity, skill, and imagination.

An avid outdoorsman, David found happiness hiking, camping, dirt biking, and exploring nature. He enjoyed long bike rides with his dad and friends, treasured time spent around campfires, and never passed up an opportunity for adventure. Whether building something with his hands, helping a friend, or planning a family outing, he approached life with enthusiasm, generosity, and determination.

David touched countless lives through his kindness, loyalty, humor, and willingness to help others. His presence made people feel welcome, valued, and cared for, and the impact he made will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife, Alexa Straub (Leonhard); his son, Greyson Straub; his daughter, Hayven Straub; his father, Allen Straub; his sisters, Amanda Worthy Straub and Tiffany White Straub; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sheri Straub.

David will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he shared, the memories he created, and the lives he enriched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Twin Cities Church, 11726 Rough and Ready Highway, Grass Valley, California 95945.

In every mountain trail, campfire gathering, bike ride, and family adventure, David’s spirit will continue to live on.
