October 23, 1956 – January 9, 2026

Paul Edward Carter II, longtime resident of Grass Valley, California, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 69, and was surrounded by family.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Joe Ann Carter. Also, his grandmother Hildreth Eloise Martin, brother Jeffrey Lee Carter and sister Dawn Ann Carter.

He leaves behind his wife of 29 years Debi Bowen, 2 stepdaughters Shelly Sullivan and Lori Lane, 6 grandchildren all of Grass Valley. He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Richman, Robin Silva and Amy Carter and many nephews and nieces.

Paul attended Vista High School and was in the Marching Band and flew to Europe to perform. Paul also served in the United States Navy. He also attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Vista, CA where he was an acolyte.

Before moving to Grass Valley from Vista, Paul became a butcher, moving to the Bay Area and working for Provimi Veal. Benchmark Thermal in Grass Valley, CA is where he spent the last 10 years working before he became ill.

Paul loved fishing and always enjoyed boating with his sister Shirley but most of all he was so proud to be papa to his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by his family.
