December 27, 1947 – October 6, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of David (Dave) Pohley share the news of his passing, at the age of 77, on October 6, 2025 at his home in Nevada City.

David Wayne Pohley was born in the old Miner’s Hospital in Nevada City on Dec. 27, 1947, to William F. and Clara Belle Pohley. David excelled at sports in his youth. He was in Little League and Flag Football. In High School he was on the baseball and football teams. David graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1966. After high school, David joined the Army and was sent to Viet Nam where he was badly wounded. He lost many friends and classmates in the war. After the Army he became a postman with the USPS. David helped deliver mail to Grass Valley and Nevada City, until his retirement.

David loved motorcycles and sports cars and taking to the backroads. He enjoyed playing Frisbee Golf and Poker with his friends.

David is survived by his sister, Sue Pohley Bear.
