Odette Brush

July 14, 1934 – July 29, 2025
Odette Brush, 91, of Nevada City, passed away peacefully at home on July 29th, surrounded by the forest she loved and the family who cherished her.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a gifted artist whose work was deeply inspired by Paris, animals, and the natural world. A lifelong artist, Odette was both an accomplished painter and quilter. Friends at the Artists’ Studio in the Foothills remembered her as “peaceful, wise, and steady,” and someone who “always supported those who needed her wisdom and encouragement.”
In her 70s, still eager to grow and explore, she spent three months studying painting in Paris, deepening her connection to the city that had long inspired her work.
Odette is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Bill; her younger brother, Greg, and his wife, Pat; her daughter, Janette, and son-in-law, Andrew; her son, Pete, and daughter-in-law, Ronnie; two stepdaughters, Lisa and Evie; six beautiful grandchildren and a wide circle of cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Of The Foothills.
