November 10, 1949 – June 11, 2025

Cheryl Balmain passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2025. She had a 27-year career in the educational system beginning as a teacher and ending as an academic counselor at Nevada Union. In retirement she was active in her church and had been part of the Empire Mine Cottage Living History Program. She loved gardening, Bunco, her book club and her Bible study. Her fun-loving nature and huge heart made her the best wife, mother and grandmother to her husband Bill and her children Caylen, Nicole and James Arbaugh, and her 4 grandchildren Cory and Brooke Arbaugh, Alexa and Siem Neervoort.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, of 53 years, Bill Balmain, and her brother and his spouse, Dave and Mary Steele; as well as her children and grandchildren mentioned above.

A Celebration of Cheryl’s Life will be held on August 2, 2025, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church.
