Susan was a 1972 graduate from the University of Wisconsin/Oshkosh with a degree in art. She moved to Sarasota, Fl and then to Los Angeles, CA before moving to Nevada County 42 years ago. In 2001, she was included in the Union’s “Best of Nevada County” and won Best Artist in 2001.

She was the executive director of Telecare and moved on to become the Executive Director of the Nevada County Transportation (Gold Country Stage) until her retirement in 2018. After retiring, she was active with and on the Board of Directors at Connecting Point in Grass Valley. She continued and enjoyed doing her artwork until she passed.

Susan is survived by her partner and soulmate of 42 years, Linda Stevens. Survivors also include her sister, Debby Healy-Gray (Grass Valley), 2 sons and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life for Susan later this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Foothills.
