Gary N. Brown passed away on July 13, 2023 Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. He was 78.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 235 South Church Street, Grass Valley. Full military honors by the Nevada County All Veterans Honor Guard will be rendered.

Gary was born November 1, 1944 in Monterey, CA to Harold and Mildred Brown. He served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1967 as a Chinese Linguist at Clark AFB in the Philippines. He worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years until retirement in 2009. He became a Deacon for the Episcopal Church and served as Archdeacon for five years.

Gary was a spiritual adviser and mentor. He created a labyrinth on his property for a meditation and renewal. He was also an advocate for veterans

Gary will be remembered for his kindness and compassion.

He is survived by his wife, Page Brown of Grass Valley; son, Willie Brown of Porterville, CA; daughters, Lori Allen of Portland, OR, and Aurora Ellis of Portland, OR, and sister, Shirley Pina of Pasa Robles, CA. He also leaves six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred Brown, and sister, Janice Newton.
