Shannon Fitzpatrick

May 20, 1948-September 29, 2026

Oliva Shannon Fitzpatrick, aged 78, was called to heaven on Tuesday, September 29. She was born on May 20, 1948, in Corvalis, Oregon, graduated from Sonoma State and was married to her devoted husband and caregiver, Denny for 32 years. She leaves two sons: Oliver and Shea Caspersen, two step-daughters, Lisa Kovakovich (husband, Karson) and Kelly Alcorn (husband, Aaron) and four grandchildren: Jesse and Marissa Alcorn, and Ella and Joseph Caspersen. She was the beloved daughter of Oral and Ollene Lee and sister of Marc Lee (spouse, Rosanna).

Liv was the real deal. Her humility, love of life, positive spirit, and open and accepting heart made all who knew her better human beings. She was always the genuine, caring friend: eager to listen, eager to help. Liv loved cuddling in front of the fire at home as much as traveling the world, referring to herself as “very blessed” to have experienced life to the fullest. Being “hard-core” foodies, Liv and Denny would spend hours in the kitchen together, cooking and entertaining their beloved family and friends. With such unique sweet music in her soul, Livvy was ever the inspiration for Denny’s songwriting. As her love of nature and flowers were integral to her finding joy in the simplest things, she spent her last few months relishing the beauty of her garden while enjoying the devotion of her little pooch, Scout. She was truly what we all aspire to be: an instrument of God’s mercy and peace.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Liv’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Cancer Center through Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital (supportsierranevada.org), or to Hospice of the Foothills (foothills-cares.org) would be a fitting tribute.
