Clifford “Sonny” Young passed away on August 9, 2026. He was 84 years old.
Sonny’s ashes will be taken to Keystone Gap, a beautiful lookout that was special to him.
Sonny was born January 19, 1942 at Grass Valley Hospital, to Clifford F. and Marie Young. He spent most of his life in the timber logging industry. He ran the loader at Sierra Mountain Mill for many years as well as working for Siller Brothers. He eventually got the trucking bug and became an independent truck driver, hauling logs and equipment.

His gift of telling a good story and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
He’s survived by his wife Kathleen, her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Kirk. His daughter Frances and son-in-law John. His son Josef and grandchildren Levi, Logan, and Sophia.
He’s preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Marie Young, brother Thomas Gordon and Sister Frances Clark.
