In Loving Memory of Ruth Ann Lastufka (Enos)

With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Ruth Ann Lastufka, AKA Ruth, RA, Jungle Temptress, Ruthie, who departed this world on July 10, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on January 16^th, 1948, in Woodland, CA, Ruth Ann lived a life defined by community and family.  From an early age, she possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout her life, Ruth Ann dedicated herself to her family and her career.  She worked in the banking business for close to 40 years and had her own business for a period of time. Through her vibrant personality and countless quiet acts of kindness that often went unnoticed, she made the world a little brighter and a little better each day.

Ruth Ann will be remembered for her contagious laugh, sharp wit, upbeat personality and unconditional love for her family.  She had a gift for making people laugh.  Family gatherings, friendships, and everyday moments were enriched by her presence, warmth, and unwavering love.

Ruth Ann found great joy in gardening, travel (she LOVED Hawaii) and family.  Christmas was her favorite time of year.  Each room had its own special decorations.  She made sure her grandchildren received special gifts and See’s candy each year.  The highlight of her decorations was the 9’ Christmas tree with over 800 ornaments and 1200 hand-strung  lights.

Ruth Ann is lovingly survived by her sons, Michael and Cody, her grandchildren, Jadon, Mathilde, Lucianna, Leo, and Landon, her stepson, Ben, her sister Dianne, and her husband, Paul.  She was preceded in death by her sister Christy, father, Quinten, and mother, Muriel.

While our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Ruth Ann’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared so freely.

Ruth Ann faced a long and courageous struggle with numerous medical conditions and alcoholism. She was a tremendous sponsor and supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous, helping countless people over the years. Despite many years of hard-fought sobriety and remarkable resilience, she ultimately lost her battle with this disease. Her strength, determination, and enduring spirit remain a testament to the courage with which she lived her life.  She often said that the happiest moments of her life were when she was sober.  Let’s remember Ruth Ann as who she was during her happy times and not what she was in the end.

A celebration of life for Ruth Ann will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 15^th at the Nevada City Elks Lodge, 518 CA-Hwy 49, Nevada City.
