Gustave Lee Seyle III passed away on July 4, 2026 at Sierra View Senior Living in Grass Valley. He was 92 years old.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Richards of the Grass Valley SDA Church and the Nevada County All Veterans Honor Guard.

Lee was born on June 25, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to Gustave Lee Seyle II and Ethelle Seyle. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Army. He served four years during World War II. He was married to Mariam C. Johnson Seyle, also a resident of Sierra View Senior Living for over 55 years. Lee leaves behind his son Nick Seyle and a daughter Kathleen, both of Santa Cruz, CA and several step-grand and great-grandchildren of his wife Mariam.

Lee owned his own auto body shop, painting and working on all cars and was a dune buggy mechanic. He belonged to the Ecarabajo Dune Buggy Club in Concord, CA. He also belonged to the Grass Valley SDA Church.

He enjoyed life. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a great Christian man. He loved the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him.
