Richard Page

Longtime resident Richard Page passed away on July 2, 2026. Born in Nevada, May 8, 1929 to Laverne and Richard Page Sr. The family moved to Nevada County when Richard was three years old.

Richard graduated from Grass Valley High school in 1947. After serving in the Army in the Korean War, he attended and graduated from Sierra College. He continued his music major at Sacramento State, but decided to manage the family business, the Gold Bowl bowling alley until the mid ‘70’s. When the business sold, he began working as a salesman at Yuba River Lumber Company and then later Meeks Lumber retiring in 2006.

Throughout his life, he pursued his passion for music. Rich was an accomplished saxophone player, playing in the Nevada County Concert Band, a local band, the Town Tones specializing in Jazz and Swing, and Saturday nights at the Senior dances at the Grange.

Richard was predeceased by his wife JoAnn in 2006 and his sister Loretta. He is survived by his daughters Brenda Applegate, Janice (Tim) Rowe, grandsons Ryan (Melody) Applegate and Jimmy Rowe, and great grandsons Callum and Tristan Applegate.
