Lonnie Debra McCaffree

With deep pain and even deeper love, we honor the life of Lonnie Debra McCaffree, who left this world on May 1, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on June 16, 1962 in North Hollywood, raised in Thousand Oaks, where she attended Conejo Valley High School and then later moved to Grass Valley in 1980 where she planted her roots. Lonnie lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories that will continue to live on through everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Lonnie was the kind of woman people gravitated toward instantly. She had a warmth about her that made every room feel safer, brighter, and more alive. Her presence alone felt like home. Whether you had known her for years or had just met her, she welcomed everyone with open arms, a contagious laugh, a heart that never stopped giving. She was funny, strong, nurturing, outdoorsy, and truly one of the most selfless people anyone could ever meet.

She is survived by her loving children, Ryan McCaffree, Jody Meyer, and Gannon McCaffree, along with the many grandchildren she absolutely adored and spoiled endlessly. Being a mother and grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and the love she poured into her family was immeasurable. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she made sure every person she loved knew just how deeply they mattered to her.

Lonnie lived life loudly and fully. She loved rock and roll, being out on the water, camping beneath the stars, spending time with the people she loved most, and of course, making memories at the casino. She had an adventurous spirt that could never be contained. Some of the best moments in life were the ones shared beside her, laughing until your stomach hurt, listening to music, telling stories, and feeling completely accepted for exactly who you were.

She dedicated many years working for the school district before later becoming a stay-at-home mother, a role she cherished deeply. Eventually retiring early, Lonnie embraced life exactly the way she wanted to, freely, joyfully, and surrounded by the people she loved most.

The loss of Lonnie leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture. She was the heart of her village – the planner, the comforter, the safe place, the life of every party, and the person who always showed up when it mattered most. She put so much love and effort into everything she did, never asking for anything in return. The world feel quieter without her laughter, dimmer without her light, and incomplete without the love she gave so effortlessly.

There are some people whose absence changes everything, and Lonnie was one of those people. Nothing will ever feel quiet the same without her. But the love she created, the memories she gave, and the deep imprint she left on so many hearts will live on forever.

Though her family and friends are devastated by this loss, they find comfort in knowing that to know Lonnie was to experience a rare and beautiful kind of love, the kind that stays with you long after goodbye.

She will be missed beyond measure and loved for all eternity.
