Robert L. (Bob) White

7/27/50 – 5/12/26

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, Bob White, age 75.

Bob was born in So. Calif. in 1950, grew up in San Diego and relocated to the L.A. & Orange County areas in the early 70’s. He worked in machine shops, gaining experience in what would be his life-long career in the Tool & Die business.

He met his wife Barbara of 46 years and they had one daughter, Nadia. Looking for a slower-paced lifestyle, he moved his family to Grass Valley in 1989 and opened his business of 34 years, “White Tool”. All who knew Bob knew what a genius he was at his craft, designing and manufacturing high-precision aircraft molds. He was forced to close his business in 2023 when he was diagnosed with a rapidly-progressing Parkinson’s disease.

Bob loved living in Grass Valley and the low-stress lifestyle living in a small town offers. He became involved in local issues and even had a brief period serving as a replacement County Planning Commissioner in the early 90’s. He stayed involved in local issues, twice assisting in the fight against the reopening of the Idaho-Maryland Mine.

He loved to go fishing, ride his motorcycles, restore vintage hi-fi, mastering BBQ specialties for friends & family and working on his property. He especially enjoyed weekly lunches and laughs with his good buddy Max.

Bob will be missed by many, he was the guy that knew how to fix anything from cars, electronics, plumbing, you name it.

He leaves behind his wife Barbara and daughter Nadia, several brothers and their families.

Many thanks to Golden Empire Care Home for their great care and compassion during his illness.

We honor his legacy and celebrate the many achievements and lasting impact he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
