Richard Carl Vogt

Richard Carl Vogt “Rick” passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 surround by family after a fifteen month fight with an illness. He was born in San Francisco on March 31, 1955. He moved to Grass Valley, CA at the age of ten when they purchased the Alta Hill Market. Rick graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1973. He was a long-haul truck drive for forty years.
Rick’s favorite pastimes were fishing, motorcycles (especially “Guy Runs”) and woodworking. He enjoyed seafood, the Food Channel, and any police show. A quiet man of few words who most of all loved gatherings with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Warner) Vogt, sister Carla Webber, children Tiffanie (Chris) Hoyt, Jason Vogt, Jessica (Mark) Kubich, Josh Vogt, Nick (Hilary) Warner, twelve grandchildren and three nieces. He also leaves his brother-in-law Jerry (Nancy) Warner of Doyle, CA and his beloved niece Cortney Warner.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Marion (Betty) Vogt, son Christopher, sister Karen, in-laws, Junior and Murriel Warner and brother-in-law Daniel Warner.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at the family home on Brighton Street, Grass Valley, CA on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Foothills and the Sutter doctors for their compassionate care.
His final words, “I Love You All! Keep on Truckin! 10-4!”
