Bob Salyer

Bob Salyer passed away at his daughter’s house on January 12, 2026. He was surrounded by his family.
There will be no services as per his wishes.
Bob was born on October 3, 1943 in Glendale, CA to Robert and Virginia (Cole) Salyer. He attended school at Delevan Drive Elementary, Eagle Rock High School and then Charter Oak High School where he graduated from in 1961. He married Georgiana Cook on August 1, 1964. He worked many jobs over the years. He moved to Grass Valley in 1974. For the last 30 years, he worked as a bartender at Uncle Sonny’s until his retirement in 2015. He was an Ophir Hill Volunteer Fire Fighter for 16 ½ years. He was a member of the Grass Valley Moose Lodge for many years. He had a nickname given to him by a neighbor girl “Bobalouie”.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and woodworking. He loved his six grandchildren Brittany, Stephen, Stephanie, Shelby, Amanda and Nicholas and his 14 great grandchildren.
He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Georgiana, his daughters Tracey (Gerald) Thole of Grass Valley Barbara (Joe) Fleming of Clovis, Ca, Michelle (Joe) Pasciuti of Grass Valley, six grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren
He’s preceded in death by his parents Robert and Virginia Salyer and his brother Kerry Joel Salyer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the U.S. National Forest Service and to Bristol Hospice.
