Leroy Fuller Lockhart

Leroy (Roy) Fuller Lockhart passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on June 4, 1932, in Sherborn, Mass. Roy grew up with a strong sense of duty and determination. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955.
Following his military service, Roy attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He later went on to complete his master’s degree, furthering his dedication to his profession.
In 1954, Roy married his high school sweetheart, Joan Therese Martin. They were married for 28 years and together they raised three children. While building a loving family, he established a distinguished career in the electronics and telecommunications industry. He worked for Bell Telephone, Fairchild, and Motorola, dedicating 28 years to Motorola. In 1968, Roy moved his family from the East Coast to California, where he continued his work with Motorola, taking on major responsibilities in developing and supporting police and fire communication systems.
In 1989, he married Margaret Ann Roysdan and was married 34 years, until her passing last year. He fulfilled a lifelong dream of building a home in Nevada City, California. Retirement did not slow him down. Roy remained deeply committed to his community, volunteering his time by serving on the County Grand Jury and as a member of the local fire district.
In his free time, Roy cherished fishing trips and golfing with friends, enjoying the camaraderie and the outdoors he loved so much.
Roy will be remembered for his integrity and dedication to his country and his community.
He is survived by his children, Steve Lockhart and his wife Esther, Dave Lockhart and his wife Nancy, Donna Perham and her husband Shel, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
