September 9, 1961 – January 24, 2026

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 21st at 1:00pm at Simple Truth Church North Point in Grass Valley for Glenn Douglas Newman. A Penn Valley resident since 1989, Glenn ascended to Heaven on January 24, 2026, aged 64.

Glenn loved God, his wife Lisa, his children, his community and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had numerous friends, and was a longtime participant in 4-H, the Nevada County Fair and the Penn Valley Rodeo.

Glenn was born September 9, 1961 in Coatesville, PA. He moved to Redondo Beach with his mother and brother in 1970. In 1984, he married Lisa Padgett. Together they had three children.

Glenn was preceded in death by his sons Ryan and Brett, his mother Maralyn Jean Wirtz, father Robert Newman, and stepfather Charles Wirtz. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Lisa, daughter Kate Van Vleck (Quincy), brother Brian Newman (Jacqui Marty), grandchildren Finnick and Nova Van Vleck, and several beloved aunts and cousins though he will always be “Uncle Glenn” to all the children and grandchildren in his extended family.
