Emerson A. Wallis “Wally” passed away December 2, 2025. Wally was born March 31, 1942, in Fairfield, CA and moved to Nevada City shortly after his birth to be near his mother’s family.

 Wally grew up on Nevada Street in Nevada City.  He attended Nevada City Elementary School where he made many lifelong friends. Wally graduated with the class of 1960 from Nevada Union High School and attended Sierra College where he received his AA Degree   He worked for local land surveying firms.  He retired after 35 years at Nevada City Engineering. Wally never forgot a name or a job site!

Wally was a very skilled trap shooter.  He was a Life Member of the Nevada County Sportsman’s Club and a past member of the Grass Valley Sportsman’s Club.

Wally is predeceased by his parents Emerson Albert Wallis and Mary Jones Wallis.
