Dolores J. Albaugh (Peake)

April 24, 1935 – June 30, 2025
Dolores “Dee” Albaugh age 90, of Nevada City, sadly left our world on June 30, 2025, after a life richly lived in generosity and kindness. Dee was a devoted wife to her husband (Gene, deceased) and her children Pam Wolff (John), Shari Pargett (Ron), Larry Albaugh (Valerie), Michael “Sid” Albaugh (Carol), and Amy Cortez (Joey). Along with her five wonderful children, Dee was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dee was the last of seven children born to Egbert and Bertha Peake in Salt Lake City, Utah. She moved with her family to the Bay Area after World War II where she graduated from El Cerrito High School (Go Gauchos). She met Gene on the steps of the LDS Church, got married and started their family in Richmond, CA. Dee followed Gene on his adventures to Clayton, San Andreas, and finally Nevada City. Dee loved working for the Courts in Nevada County and retired in the early 90’s. Retirement, however, suited Dee particularly well as she enjoyed friends, walks around Eskaton, travel, sewing, teapot collecting, Mahjong, Qigong, Mexican Train, and Bunco.
Mama Dee (GGD) will be missed but not forgotten. Dee is in heaven once again dancing with Gene, holding precious angel Jameson Paul Currie (great-grandchild), while still smiling and singing:
I love you, a bushel and a peck
A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck
A hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap
A barrel and a heap and I’m talkin’ in my sleep
About you, about you
‘Cause I love you, a bushel and a peck
You bet your purdy neck, I do
A doodle oodle, ooh doo
A doodle oodle, oodle, ooh doo
