Terry Lee Honea

August 22, 1950 – May 25, 2025

Terry Lee Honea, Sr., age 74, known to his friends as “The Manster” or “Biker Trash” passed away on May 25, 2025, in Smartsville, California, surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 22, 1950, in Holland City, Michigan, Terry lived a life marked by humor, loyalty, compassion, and a passion for classic cars, custom motorcycles, car/ bike shows, and unwavering love for those he held dear.

Terry graduated from Big Bear High School in 1968 and soon embarked on a career in law enforcement. Throughout the 1970s, he served with the Southern Pacific Railroad Police in Los Angeles for twelve years. Seeking a change of pace and lifestyle, Terry moved to Grass Valley in the 1980s. There, he worked with a local construction contractor before joining Grass Valley Group as a plater – a position he held for a decade.

In 1998, Terry took a leap of faith and launched his own landscaping business. With a contractor’s license in hand and a deep passion for working outdoors, he poured his heart into building something of his own. He continued operating the business until health challenges led to his retirement in 2021. Terry found great joy and fulfillment in being his own boss and creating beauty through his work.

Terry’s passions extended far beyond his professional life. He lived for classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles always customizing something new. He was a familiar face at car and bike shows, where he didn’t just attend but often competed and won. His green thumb was equally impressive; gardening wasn’t just a hobby but an extension of his creativity and care.

Known for his mischievous spirit and pranks, Terry rarely gave a straight answer – but always gave his whole heart to those lucky enough to be part of his inner-circle. Fiercely loyal and deeply trusting, he believed in second chances – for people and animals alike. His compassion extended especially to Shih Tzu dogs. Over the years, he adopted many animals that others had cast aside, treating them as cherished family members.

Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Louise Honea; son Terry Honea Jr.; daughter Christine; stepdaughter Amber Baker; and stepson Derek Runyan. He was preceded in death by his firstborn son Sean Honea; his mother Joyce Siebelink; father Joseph Honea; aunt Donna, and grandparents John and Katie Siebelink.

In accordance with Terry’s wishes, there will be no burial or memorial service. To honor his memory, please consider donating to your favorite pet rescue shelter. Contributions can take many forms – monetary gifts, secondhand blankets, pet toys, or other pet supplies – or perhaps most meaningfully, your time spent volunteering to walk, comfort and socialize animals awaiting adoption.

Terry’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched – human and animal alike – and through the roar of engines where stories of “Manster” or “Biker Trash” still echo.
