Leon Roland Owens of Grass Valley, CA passed away peacefully surrounded with his family on April 30, 2025 at the age of 80.

Leon was born June 21, 1944 in Shawnee Oklahoma to Orville and Minnie Lee Owens. He was a 45 year resident of Grass Valley. Leon was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Almanor and the ocean. His favorite activities were boating, fishing, golfing, traveling, and BBQing. He lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with family and friends.

In 1965 Leon met the love of his life, Sharon. They were married for 56 years. Leon and Sharon went on to have two daughters. He was known for his strong will, unwavering determination, and his fierce love and support to his family, friends and community.

Leon graduated from UOP with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. He had a 32 year career with Longs Drugs as a pharmacist and store manager.

Leon was preceded in death by Oroville and Minnie Lee Owens (parents), Anna Owens (sister), Don Owens (brother). He is survived by his wife Sharon, his daughters Kim Sackman and husband Steven, Alisa Johnson and husband Scott, grandchildren Karissa and Chelsea Johnson, Tommy Sackman and numerous in laws, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Leon will be missed by all that knew him. He will live in our hearts forever and never will be forgotten.
