July 4, 1926 – March 27, 2025

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Pauline Louise Haugen Kruegel on March 27, 2025, in Grass Valley at the age of 98.

She was born on July 4,1926 to Roy and Edith Haugen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She studied and became an RN at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis before marrying George Kruegel in August of 1947. The newlyweds moved to Los Altos in 1948 where they raised their three children until moving the family to Grass Valley in 1963. Pauline enjoyed being involved with the Grass Valley Rifle, Rod, and Gun Club, making pasties with the Women’s Auxiliary and fishing with George at Fuller Lake. Pauline and George enjoyed Sundays at Calvary Bible Church. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by daughters, Janet (John) Juarez, Gail (Jim) Beitz, and son, Richard (Karel) Kruegel, 6 grandchildren ( Jennifer, Jill, Mary, Emily, Joe, and Sam) and 4 great grandchildren (Travis, Wes, Abby, and Ella) and many nieces and nephews.

A private family celebration will be held.
