Dale Tracy

Dale Dee Tracy, 87, passed away peacefully on 3 December 2024, at his home in Penn Valley, California after a long and fulfilling life.

Dale was born on 20 January 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Dee and Beatrice Tracy. He grew up on their farm growing potatoes, wheat, and hay. He learned to drive a tractor when he was eight years old, having to stand to reach the pedals. While attending Firth High School he was a starter in all sports, excelling in basketball, football, lettering his freshman year in baseball. He was most proud of baseball. He was most proud of beating their rivals in basketball. Dale was also the President Future Farmers of America.

Dale put himself through college raising sheep. He majored n Physical Education and obtained his private pilot license while attending Utah State University (USU), in Logan Utah. He was the founding member of the Logan Chapter of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He thought he would become a teacher, however his passion for flying took over, enrolling in the Air Force ROTC, leading to a new career direction. Dale left school as a 2nd lieutenant in the United States Air Force with a Bachelor of Science degree.

While at USU he met and married his wife Nancyan Bohman. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They spent 65 beautiful years together and were blessed with five children. His first military assignment was in San Antonio, Texas, where he earned his wings to fly and he ended his 22-year career at Beale Air Force Base in California as a Lieutenant Colonel.

His military career allowed him to travel the world. He loved flying a plane.
