Gail Dilka

Gail Dilka went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2022, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 71. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday March 26 at 10:00am at Simple Truth North Point Church in Grass Valley. Gail was born on August 10, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois to Virginia and David Harney. She was married on August 24, 1975 to Walt Dilka. She attended Chico State University graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. She completed the teaching program at Chapman University to attain her teaching credential in 1994. She worked for many years as an Education Specialist at several home based charter schools in the surrounding area. She helped to establish Forest, South Sutter, and Ocean Grove Charter schools. She had a passion for homeschooling. She was a woman of great faith and of many talents, cooking, baking, and quilting. She has attended Simple Truth North Point Church for the last 10 years where she served whole heartedly in womens and children’s ministries. Her kind spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She leaves behind three children, AnnMarie Clausen of Kalispell, Montana, Shannon Briggs of Auburn, Travis Dilka of Yuba City, her husband Walt Dilka of Grass Valley, nine siblings and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents David and Virgina Harney; brother Peter Harney.
