Our Staff

Hooper and Weaver funeral professionals know Nevada County like no other mortuary.  Owner and funeral director, Kay Lott Baker, has lived in Nevada County all her life. General manager, Debbie Prisk Olsen, is a fourth generation Nevada County native, and leads a team of mortuary staff, funeral and pre-need counselors, administrators, and grounds crew that consistently demonstrate the genuine care and concern that has become our hallmark.

We understand that our work is a service to our community and families want someone they can depend on and trust during this time of need. Our close knit team listens as they walk families through options and make recommendations based on understanding the personal touches that will truly make a difference.

Meet Our Team

We are here to help guide you through every step of the process and stay in close touch as you make many important decisions. Our goal is to eliminate burdens and create a relationship with our families where all of the details will be taken care of with efficiency, sensitivity and compassion.

Community Involvement

On September 22, Hooper & Weaver Mortuary Employees participated in the “Friendship 100” and golf tournament, a benefit for the Friendship Club.  The Friendship Club is a prevention program designed to reach at-risk girls before they engage in unhealthy behaviors. We teach the girls life skills, personal responsibility and the value of hard work through a year-around program of educational activities, emotional support and community involvement. The Friendship Club guides girls to bright futures and helps them to become valuable members of their community.
