Chester Herbert Lundmark

Chester Herbert Lundmark of Nevada City passed away on April 12, 2017. He was 89.

Chester was born on November 11, 1927 in Warren, Pennsylvania to Herbert and Emma Lundmark. He served in both the Navy and Army during and after WWII. He married the love of his life, Eleonore, while serving in Germany. After returning home, he earned his engineering degree from Penn State University. Immediately after graduation, Chester worked for General Electric for a number of years before moving his growing family to California to take a position with Lockheed Missiles and Space in Sunnyvale.

After working with Lockheed 28 years, Chet and Eleonore retired to Nevada City, where he lived happily to the end of his life.

Chester is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleonore; brother Robert (Molly) Lundmark of Warren, PA; sister Jane Lesh of Newcastle; daughters Patricia (Jorge) Accorinti of San Jose, Sonesa (Michael) Lundmark Angus of Orofino, ID; sons Michael (Laurie) of Belen, New Mexico, Christian of Nevada City and Nicholas (Tracy) of Saratoga, along with ten grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in early summer.

Arrangements are under the care of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
